2019 EXHIBITS*: Afghani, Albanian, Bangladesh, Bulgarian, Cambodian, Carpatho-Rusyn, Chinese, Colombian, Croatian, Czech & Slovak, Dutch, Egyptian, Finnish, French, Greek, Guatemalan, Hmong, Hungarian, Indian, Italian, Jamaican, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Nepalese, Pakistani , Palestinian , Peruvian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovenian, Sri Lankan, Sudanese, Taiwanese, Tamil, Thai, Tibetan, Turkish, Ugandan, Vietnamese.
Each year, the Festival’s Cultural Exhibits create their area based on the year’s theme. In 2019 the theme is: World Festivals and Celebrations and the Exhibits are encouraged to submit proposals to become a Featured Cultural Exhibit for that year. Proposals are reviewed by a panel of judges based on specific criteria. After the proposal review, four Featured Exhibits are chosen and provided a stipend to aid in the development and design of their exhibits.
FRENCH CULTURAL EXHIBIT
In 2019, the French Cultural Exhibit focuses on a celebration of Chandeleur (festival of lights.) Visitors will learn how the French celebrate this holiday.
THAI CULTURAL EXHIBIT
Thai Cultural Exhibit is highlighting ‘Phi Ta Khon’, Thai ghost festival. During 2019 Festival of Nations, visitors will be able to experience a Thai ghost festival and its cultural significance.
COLOMBIAN CULTURAL EXHIBIT
The Colombian Cultural Exhibit is presenting Feria de las Flores (fair of the flowers) at the 2019 Festival of Nations. This celebration is a local tradition which reflects Colombian culture.
CARPATHO- RUSYN CULTURAL EXHIBIT
Lemko Vatra (Bonfire festival) is a celebration of Carpatho-Rusyn Lemko cultural traditions with musical and theatrical performances, as well as exhibitions, contests and traditional crafts.
